What is “Eighth Wonder” the novel blog about?

I’ve always loved history, reading about the past, about great people and great events.  EIGHTH WONDER the novel is about a great human being, a diamond in the ruff who overcame disability, bondage, and blindness to become one of the most recognizable names on earth at the turn of the century only to fall into obscurity.

Thomas Bethune was a slave who was born and raised in Columbus Georgia.  He was owned by Colonel James Bethune. They are real people who lived during the antebellum era.  This blog is about their lives, their times, their dreams, their hopes, their contemporaries and their role models.  I will give hints to the characters who live in the book by talking about them on this blog, their own stories, their own mysteries and trivia, and it will be up to you to use your imagination to ponder how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together in the finished book!  (Excerpts are available for purchase and updates on the book’s final home will be given periodically.)
